Since 3 months in spite of all my travels, I have worked a lot especially on my industrial project. In my team, 2 finnish Jaakko and Niina and one chinese Wukui
. After several sleepless nights, we have completed it this week. The custom of this course is that all the teams plus the teachers team
make a beer race at the end. The competition consists of drinking one beer bottoms up and then running about 200 meters and to give the relay ( an opener!) to one of your team-mate.
Guess who was the first team... Ours!!!! Moreover, nobody in our team has thrown up.
Crazy the teachers'ideas here!!!
For people who are wondering how is the finnish alcohol ,let's me say few words:
The main drink is of course BEER. There are 4 main brands:
- Lapin Kulta (L'or de Laponie ),poetic isn't it?Quite good
- Olvi the best one for me ( the most lager!!) and the second cheapest one.
- Koff, not so good but the cheapest.
- Karhu (L'ours), awful for me but maybe because it's more darker.
Beer is forbidden for people under 18 whereas strong alcohol and wines is for people under 20.
Otherwise, strong alcohol and wines must be bought in a national state shop ALKO (2 or 3 shops by city but there are not a lot of city in Finland :) )
Alcohol is quite expensive here but Finnish are green people. You can have some money back if you bring your empty cans and bottles (about 0,15€ by bottle/can) into supermaket where there
are some recycled machine.
